Dr Sabi is a co-principle investigator (Co-PI) on TB Sequel Project at NIMR – Mbeya Medical Research Center (NIMR-MMRC). He assists the PI by overseeing the implementation of all the study activities on-site according to protocol and established SOPs and is the contact person for day to day communications and all administrative questions.
Dr Sabi is a medical doctor and holds a masters degree in medicine, specializing in paediatrics and child health. He has long-standing experience in clinical research and over the past 7 years has been involved as an investigator and clinician in various TB and HIV-related research projects.
Currently he is heading the department of TB and emerging diseases at NIMR–MMRC and is a member of the Childhood TB Technical Working Group in Tanzania. His main interest is research on TB and HIV, with specific focus on diagnostics and treatment.
